About
this
project
While walking my dog through the empty streets during the COVID pandemic, it hit me—I didn't know my neighborhood. I felt stories were waiting to be discovered. That's when the idea came: an app that tells stories as you walk around. It's about uncovering the hidden tales that make our neighborhoods more than just streets and houses.
Intending to nurture a vibrant community around stories, my focus shifted towards devising two fundamental processes: how users select a story and contribute their own. Initial sketches and discussions with neighbors prompted considerations regarding safety. This case study delves into addressing safety concerns within an immersive user experience.
“I wish there was a way to know if the places the app leads me to are safe. It’s exciting, but I’m often anxious about where I end up.”

The
challenge
The specific challenge was understanding the diverse needs of retail chain IT executives, small store managers, and big retail marketing executives, and ensuring the dashboard's scalability was crucial. Technical constraints included optimizing sensor data accuracy and presenting it in a user-friendly manner for non-technical users.

The
Solution
The project aimed to develop a sensor-driven dashboard, leveraging groundbreaking radar technology. This innovative dashboard enabled store owners to gather actionable insights in retail spaces without compromising customer privacy. The focus was on providing real-time data on footfall, customer movement, and product engagement, empowering store owners to optimize layouts and conduct effective A/B testing.
the
Results
Users liked the Vayyar Retail Dashboard, and the technology helped them improve communication and teamwork. However, due to a shift in the company's focus toward the Elderly care and Automotive segments, which coincided with the company's mission of saving lives, in 2023 the project was eventually put on hold.
